Acupuncture involves the shallow insertion of very tiny needles (as thin as a few human hairs) into various points on the body. The needles are sterile, single use only and are recognized by the FDA as an approved medical tool. We practice an extremely gentle yet effective style of acupuncture.

Today, the efficacy of acupuncture is irrefutable. The debate in the West is no longer “does it work” but rather, “HOW does it work” so well? The Chinese use the ancient concept of "Qi" or energy to explain the effects of acupuncture but this can be difficult for Westerners to grasp. As acupuncture has grown in popularity in the West, the Word Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute of Health (NIH) have performed clinical studies on the effects of acupuncture and have developed the following 5 theories of how it works, in easy to understand, modern scientific terms.


Acupuncture Augments the Immune System

Acupuncture has been shown to raise blood levels of white blood cells, prostaglandins, gamma globulin and overall anti-body levels which suggests that acupuncture has the effect of increasing the strength of the body's immune system. Acupuncture is an effective treatment for many chronic diseases, chronic infections, preventative medicine during cold and flu season and can be a helpful adjunct therapy in cancer treatment.


Acupuncture Increases Circulation

Acupuncture has been shown to increase circulation in the body, especially to the areas adjacent to points being needled. Histamine and other vasodilators are released by the body in response to acupuncture. This is useful in healing injuries, minimizing scar tissue etc...


Acupuncture Causes the Release of Endorphins

Endorphins are the body's natural pain killers and acupuncture strongly stimulates their release. Endorphins are thought to be around 10x stronger than morphine, the strongest pharmaceutical pain killer available. This is why acupuncture is so effective in pain management.


Acupuncture Raises Levels of Important Neurotransmitters

Acupuncture has been shown to affect certain neurotransmitter levels such as serotonin. Low levels of serotonin are associated with insomnia, addiction, depression, sugar cravings, obesity and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). Acupuncture raises serotonin levels and can be an effective treatment for these conditions. This also explains why acupuncture makes you feel so good.


The Gate Control Theory

Acupuncture is thought to interrupt the neurotransmission of pain by overloading certain 'nerve gates' in the central nervous system with stimulation, thus preventing the transmission of the pain signal. In other words, the brain never receives a pain signal.

What Are Allergies?

An allergy is a condition of unusual sensitivity to one or more substances which may be harmless to the majority of the population. Allergies cause illness. In the allergic person, the allergic substance (known as and allergen) is viewed by the brain as a threat to the body's well being. When contact is made with the allergen, it causes blockages in energy pathways called meridians, disrupting the normal flow of energy through the body's electrical circuits. This energy blockage causes interference between the brain and body via the nervous system, which begins a chain of events that can develop into an allergic response.

 

Undiagnosed allergies are often the cause of common or chronic illnesses which when left untreated can become serious or critical. Through illness, pain, inflammation, headaches, fever, heart attacks, strokes, abnormal growths, tumors, and various physical, psychological discomforts, the brain signals the body about the possible dangers if the energy blockages remain within the body. The result of these energy imbalances in the body lead to a diminished state of health in one or more organ system. What Is N.A.E.T?

Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination Technique (NAET) is an innovative treatment for allergies that is completely natural, painless, and non-invasive. This method can be used safely on anyone, even newborn infants and the elderly. NAET can also be used to treat healthy individuals with hidden, sub-clinical allergies that could cause illness in the future.

 

Testing techniques utilizes muscle response testing (MRT) which indicates the kinetic imbalance in the body caused by allergens. The NAET treatment stimulates pressure points along the spine from the neck to the sacrum where the patient is holding an allergen. After the treatment, a strong MRT indicates that the allergy has been removed. Specific acupressure points are then massaged or acupuncture needles may be inserted for 20 minutes to stabilize the treatment and address additional issues. The allergen must then be completely avoided for 25 hours following the treatment for best results. Allergens are treated and cleared one at a time, in a specific sequence.

How Does N.A.E.T. Work?

All living things and objects have energy fields. All atoms or molecules have electrons moving around them which create these energy fields. When a person is allergic to dairy for example, the person's energy field or energy meridians repel the dairy energy field and allergy symptoms result. The NAET treatment redirects the person's energy to accept the dairy energy field, which results in the elimination of allergy symptoms. In this way, the brain is retrained to accept the allergen and allergy symptoms stop.
